Resume:
Dr. Zhen Zou received his Ph.D. degree in Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, Oklahoma State University (2005) and then move to work in Oklahoma State University and University of California-Riverside as a postdoctoral fellow. He worked at University of California-Riverside as an assistant researcher from 2010 to 2012. He came back to China in 2012. Now he is the group leader of Insect Immunity and Development Group of Institute of zoology, CAS.
Dr Zou had studied in insect development and immunity for more than twenty years. Using a series of approaches of genomics, molecular biology, and cellular biology, he revealed the mechanism of insect immune pathways, the role of melanization in the immune response against pathogens and parasites, and hormone regulated mosquito reproduction.

Research Interests:
His current research interest focuses on understanding (1) the molecular basis of events in the mosquito reproduction cycle linked to a blood meal and pathogen transmission, (2) the role of antifungal and antiviral immune response in mosquitoes, (3) the biochemical and molecular adaptation of parasitoid wasp and other biopesticide to it hosts. His funds are from NSFC, MOST, and CAS.
